Назва: Theoretical aspects of the translation of scientific and technical texts
Автори: Karabitskova N.
Короткий огляд (реферат): This article outlines the main theoretical differences involved in translating scientific and technical texts. It summarises the challenges encountered when translating texts of this nature. Various styles of language use are presented, and the structural features of the scientific and technical style are examined. The authors emphasise the importance of employing the scientific and technical style. The scientific and technical style refers to a formal style of language, which serves both written and spoken communication. The foundations of the linguistic functioning of scientific and technical texts are standardisation, syntactic completeness of the statement, the presence of analytical constructions, the frequent use of set phrases (mainly the nominal nature of the morphological components of the sentence), an extensive system of connecting elements, etc. Translating technical documents not only requires essential knowledge of translation but also takes into account the national characteristics of the instruction texts in the source language. The translator must develop a specific style whilst adapting the instructions to the standards of the target audience and striving to remain distinctive in the industrial market. This aspect is particularly relevant when translating instructions from English into Ukrainian. Significant emphasis is placed on certain quality rules for the translation of scientific and technical texts. There are three types of stylistic errors that undermine the text’s clarity: incorrect logical emphasis within a sentence, the lack of structure in sentences, and the formation of poor connections between words. By overcoming these shortcomings, the translator is likely to achieve clarity in the translation.

Interactive teaching methods in the system of teacher education for higher education students

Назва: Interactive teaching methods in the system of teacher education for higher education students
Автори: Leshchynska A. V.
Короткий огляд (реферат): This article explores possible ways to use interactive teaching methods—such as brainstorming, business games, press conferences, discussions, roundtables, problem-based lectures, the video method, and others—in the study of pedagogical subjects at institutions of higher education. Based on the research, the author demonstrates that instructors are proficient in interactive teaching methods and can successfully apply them in practice; however, it is important to take into account the lesson topic, objectives, characteristics of the instructional material, and the age and individual characteristics of the students. At the same time, interactive teaching methods make the study of pedagogical subjects more meaningful, interesting, and accessible, and stimulate students’ cognitive activity. However, there are still many questions regarding the use of interactive methods that require deeper and more detailed analysis and study.

Health education aspects of HIV/AIDS prevention in higher non-medical education of Ukraine

Назва: Health education aspects of HIV/AIDS prevention in higher non-medical education of Ukraine
Автори: Shevchenko A. S.; Shevchenko V. V.; Shumskyi O. L.
Короткий огляд (реферат): The paper examines health education aspects of HIV/AIDS prevention in higher non-medical education institutions of Ukraine amid wartime and distance learning challenges. The study aims to assess adult students' knowledge of HIV risk factors, transmission, testing, treatment, and stigma. Using a standardized questionnaire, the authors conducted a cross-sectional analytical study of two independent samples (n=405) in Kharkiv. The results have revealed a significant increase in awareness of transmission routes and safe sex practices, alongside an increase in condom use. However, alarming declines have been found in student awareness regarding treatment options and the absence of a vaccine, while knowledge of one’s own HIV status has decreased. Face-to-face training has proved more effective than remote format.
