Abstract

The world of work is in a constant state of flux. The skills needed to be successful in today’s workforce differ substantially from those of the past. The next decade is predicted to be a time of particularly intense change. The World Economic Forum predicts that we will need to reskill more than 1 billion people by 2030, as jobs are transformed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This article considers the most significant changes in terms of skills required by the workforce. Drawing the threads together and summing-up current thinking on the knowledge, skills and insights required of future specialists, these 6 skills won't solve all our woes, but they will play an important part in enabling this change and, in the process, future-proofing your career.
