Modelling the behavior of variable thickness shells under thermal loads

Abstract

The study examines thermal effects on hollow shells with linearly variable thickness and reveals a nonlinear dependence of the critical load on preheating intensity. The results show that such shells exhibit higher stability and load-bearing capacity compared to constant-thickness panels.
