Короткий огляд (реферат): The article is devoted to a process of formation of different kinds of small business in former Soviet republics, including Ukraine, within period of later part of 1980- ies to early 1990-ies. Analysis includes various arguments and considerations on such different forms of small business as: leas relations, individual work activity and production cooperatives. Major functioning objectives for small enterprises, and their share of participation in accelerated formation of commoditymerchandize market are paid attention to. An influence of different socio-environmental factors on transformation of small enterprises into separate new form of economics, with obtaining an official status, is assessed. Series of applied examples give a comprehensive illustration to disadvantageous nature of administrative system of economy in the former Soviet Union.
