Tradition and intertextuality as textual strategies of creating the own idiostyle

Abstract

The current paper clarifies the key concepts of literary tradition, continuity, dialogicity, and intertextual connections. It is important to emphasize that tradition and intertextuality are theoretically complex concepts, and a unified definition of this term remains very difficult to achieve. In this situation, researchers prefer to use definitions that correspond to the tasks of their scientific research. The article discusses the features of forms and functions of intertextuality, as well as the main ways of its formal expression in the text.
