Trends in the development of the global aviation industry

Abstract

Publication is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of current trends in the development of the global aviation industry in the context of post-pandemic recovery and growing uncertainty. The study examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on passenger traffic, airline revenues, and financial performance, which led to a sharp contraction of the industry in 2020 and forced airlines to revise their operating strategies. Attention is focused on regional differences in recovery dynamics, highlighting the uneven pace of growth across global markets. Particular emphasis is placed on changes in demand structure, the role of passenger transportation, and the financial sustainability of airlines. Also, analyzes key transformation trends, including digitalization, environmental initiatives, infrastructure innovation, and workforce challenges. The results indicate that despite persistent risks, the global aviation industry demonstrates strong recovery potential, provided that resilience, technological modernization, and adaptive business models are further strengthened.
