Abstract: Theoretically, it has been established that with intermittent grinding, depending on the length of the working ledge of the intermittent wheel, a minimum cutting temperature is achieved. In this case, the extreme values of the lengths of the working ledge and the cutout of the broken circle are equal to each other, and the cutting temperature decreases with an increase in the number of working ledges of the broken circle. The obtained theoretical solution can be the basis for determining the optimal geometric characteristics of the intermittent wheel and the parameters of the intermittent grinding modes.
