Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of cognitive-style features of decision-making of human-machine specialists in conditions of risk and uncertainty. The difference of professional activity in a human-machine system is to increase the load on functional systems that provide work, in particular the intellectual functional system. The complexity of labor is increased not due to the indirect participation in processing the information obtained, but also by adjusting work and making decisions on working algorithm. It is an active inclusion in a professional process that contains the choice of alternative options for successful performance of a professional task. Therefore, a cognitive component of an operator plays a significant role in a human machine system. The article states that in modern human-machine systems there is a steady tendency to increase the information load on a human-operator with a simultaneous increase in cognitive load, which is caused by an increase in complexity and responsibility of decision-making. It is the cognitive style that integrates the relevant properties that determine the nature of decision-making process.
