Abstract: This study explores the implementation and effectiveness of video materials in the first year of distance language learning for foreign students at the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy. The pre-university training stage is emphasized as crucial for phonetic practice and language acquisition. However, online learning poses challenges, such as limited phonetic exercises and reduced personal interaction. The curriculum includes six main topics, each supplemented with video materials to aid in language learning. Students are required to prepare and present video clips, fostering independent learning and phonetic improvement. Additionally, the choice and preparation of video materials provide insights into the psychological adaptation of students to a new cultural and educational environment. The study highlights the need for developing new methods to enhance student adaptation in online learning settings.
