Formation of Foreign Language Communicative Competence in Students of Economics

Abstract

The article considers the concept of communicative competence and identifies its main components, stressing the importance of foreign language communicative competence formation as the final goal of language learning. It also describes the stages of foreign language communicative competence formation specifying the main objectives of each stage and giving their short characteristics. The article pays particular attention to the ways of how to form communicative competence in the process of teaching and learning a foreign language in higher education institutions.
