Information and communication indices as a tool for measuring the global digitalization of the economy

Abstract

This paper analyzes information and communication indices (IDI, WDCR, and GCI) as strategic tools for measuring global digitalization. The authors explore the methodological differences between these indices and emphasize their role in identifying structural imbalances in national digital strategies. The findings highlight a strong correlation between digital maturity and overall economic performance, underscoring the need for an integrated analytical model to forecast the impact of ICT on the global economy.
