Abstract

The problem of information support of realization of the regional policy directed on achieving accelerated economic, ecological and social progress is considered in the article (ore mining regions of Ukraine are taken as an example). Types and forms of effects of ore mining operations on the environment components and human life are analysed. The tasks of the regional environmental monitoring system are formulated, its organizational and functional structures are outlined and proposals as to organization of the pilot environmental monitoring system in the area affected by the Poltava Ore Enrichment Plant are developed.
