Abstract

Azerbaijan is a nation located at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It has an ancient history, rich culture that has been shaped by numerous civilizations, etc. Probably one of the most significant traditions embedded in the culture of the Azerbaijani people is hospitality. It is worth mentioning that hospitality is not only a tradition in Azerbaijani culture, but it is also part of a person’s identity. One famous proverb in Azerbaijan is «Qonaq qonaqdır». It means «A guest is a guest». This shows the respect that people in Azerbaijan have for guests. If a person visits you, you treat him with hospitality, whether you know the person or not. It is considered an honor to treat your guest well when they visit you.
