Анотація

The article examines the development of university students’ communicative competencies in foreign language classes as a key requirement of modern education. It emphasizes that communicative competence is essential for effective interaction in academic, professional, and intercultural contexts. The study analyzes the continuous, stage-based formation of communicative skills from primary to higher education, highlighting the increasing complexity and professional orientation at each level. Special attention is given to the structure of communicative competence, including linguistic, sociolinguistic, discourse, strategic, and pragmatic components. The article also outlines effective pedagogical approaches, such as communicative, interactive, and competency-based methods, which foster critical thinking, autonomy, and practical language use. It concludes that an integrated approach ensures successful communication in real-life situations.
