The role of translation in the English language teaching and learning

Abstract

Translation has always been one of the most important skills in a process of teaching and learning foreign languages. But today it gains some new aspects for its development. The article gives some arguments that translation is not just a skill to be learned but a useful language learning tool in the ordinary classroom.
