dc.description.abstract	The article deals with organizing self-study work of university students using IT. The formation of professional competence in foreign languages for students of higher educational institutions using a language portfolio, IT, new teaching methods in accordance with the European Recommendations are analyzed. The urgent problems of reforming foreign languages teaching in higher educational institutions are considered.
