Authorities of local municipality as subjects of public power

Abstract

The role of local self-government authorities in municipal administration is considered, taking into account socio-political changes in the country and implementation of important transformations in the direction of European integration. The aspects of local self-government in a democratic society in accordance with the legislation in determining the limits of independence of bodies in solving public affairs are studied. The place of local self-government bodies in the political system of society is determined as an independent form of exercise of public authority of the territorial community based on the principles of autonomy and independence, direct participation of the population in solving local problems.
