Мова української преси: М. Гладкий про газетну мову 20-х років минулого століття

Abstract

У статті розглянуто один із найскладніших періодів в історії української літературної мови – 20-ті роки минулого століття, який узвичаєно називають «добою українізації». Досліджено, як процес усталення та внормування літературної мови позначився на мові української преси. Зазначено, що Микола Гладкий – один із перших нормалізаторів української літературної мови 20-х років минулого століття, своїми ґрунтовними працями («Наша газетна мова» 1928 рік, «Мова сучасного українського письменства», 1930 рік) сприяв усталенню тогочасної літературної мови. The paper deals with one of the most difficult periods in the history of Ukrainian literary language - the 20s of the last century, which is traditionally called the “era of Ukrainization”. The purpose of the article is to research how the process of normalization the literary language during the period of the so-called Ukrainization was reflected in the language of the Ukrainian press, drawing for this the work of M. Hladkyi. It is noted that Mikola Hladkyi was one of the first normalizers of the Ukrainian literary language of the 20s of the last century. His significant works (“Our Newspaper Language”, 1928, “Language of Modern Ukrainian Literature”, 1930) contributed to the standardization of the literary language in that time. In his book “Our Newspaper Language” the author quite thoroughly outlined his own observations over the language of the contemporary pen-writers, pointing out numerous deviations from the linguistic norms in the field of grammar, vocabulary and syntax.
