Abstract

The article deals with the advantages and disadvantages of testing as a tool for assessing knowledge in higher education, and the most common problems associated with the analysis of test tasks. The relevance of this issue is shown in connection with the transition to third-generation educational standards that implement a competency-based approach to learning.
