The paper examines emotional self-regulation and practices for exiting Karpman’s “Triangle of Suffering” within valeological disciplines taught to non-medical students. The research aims to analyze strategies for overcoming toxic relationships and evaluate their impact on psychological well-being. Using system analysis, sociological, and bibliosemantic methods, we have studied 124 students. The paper details two exit strategies: defensive (breaking contact) and Emotional-Energy Transformation (EET, role alteration and emotional shift). According to the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), the EET strategy demonstrated superior efficacy, yielding an average DERS score reduction of [42.5±4.7] points. Significant gender variations have been revealed, showing that males adapt action strategies more effectively and experience fewer relapses than females.
