This chapter examines the impact of the war in Ukraine on higher education institutions (HEIs), focusing on Kharkiv as a case study. Despite facing destruction, displacement, and disruption, Kharkiv’s universities have shown resilience through rapid adoption of digital and hybrid education models. The chapter highlights the necessity of flexible and innovative pedagogical approaches to maintain academic quality in crisis settings. It underscores the importance of international support and alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4, in sustaining education. Ongoing global cooperation, educational innovation, and solutions for practical training gaps are identified as vital for long-term recovery and academic continuity.
