Environmental aspects of atmospheric electricity in the development trend of a large industrial region

Abstract

The sources that form the atmospheric electric field in a large industrial region are considered using the example of a metropolis; possible mechanisms of disturbance transfer from the lower atmosphere to the ionosphere and ecological aspects are analyzed. It is shown that the manifestations of environmental consequences associated with changes in the electric field, which often remain irreversibly far outside the metropolitan area for a long time, are significant.
