Aspects that Affect Students’ Motivation to Learn English Online

Abstract

This research has the aim of highlighting the importance of motivation in the process of learning English as a foreign language. For that purpose, some aspects that affect students’ motivation are described. The proper presentation, the art of evaluating, the relationship between the teacher and the students, acknowledging and understanding students, having clear and smart objectives for each online lesson are among others. The fundamental role of the teacher’s competence is highlighted. Finally, some guidelines for a teaching methodology are proposed to enhenth students’ motivation to lean English online.
