The paper examines health education aspects of HIV/AIDS prevention in higher non-medical education institutions of Ukraine amid wartime and distance learning challenges. The study aims to assess adult students' knowledge of HIV risk factors, transmission, testing, treatment, and stigma. Using a standardized questionnaire, the authors conducted a cross-sectional analytical study of two independent samples (n=405) in Kharkiv. The results have revealed a significant increase in awareness of transmission routes and safe sex practices, alongside an increase in condom use. However, alarming declines have been found in student awareness regarding treatment options and the absence of a vaccine, while knowledge of one’s own HIV status has decreased. Face-to-face training has proved more effective than remote format.
