Abstract: The monograph is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the transformation of classical university values and academic freedom under the influence of modern digital media realities. The work examines how the processes of mediatization, content algorithmization and the spread of «clickbait» affect the scientific discourse and independence of universities. The publication highlights the relationship between media culture and academic integrity, and also proposes strategies and institutional mechanisms for protecting the academic community. The monograph analyses the development of anti-crisis media protocols and the implementation of the principles of critical media literacy. For teachers, heads of educational institutions, students of higher education, as well as everyone who is interested in the problems of transformation of higher education and science in the era of global digitalization.
