Abstract: This study explores the integrationofartificialintelligence(AI)intointerdisciplinaryeducationthroughaproject-basedlearningmodelcenteredontheDunhuangmurals.Bridgingarthistory,computerscience,andengineering,theprojectinvolved28studentsincollaborativetaskssuchasdigitalrestora-tion,neuralstyletransfer,andmetadatavisualization.Resultsindicatesignificantimprovementinstudents’technicalcompetencies,culturalunderstanding,andethicalawareness.ByembeddingAItoolsinculturallymeaningfulcontexts,theinitiativefostereddeepengagementandcriticalreflectiononissuessuchashistor-icalauthenticity,authorship,andculturalappropriation.ThemodularframeworkproposedinthisresearchdemonstratesstrongpotentialforadaptationinSTEAMeducation,emphasizingtheimportanceofcombiningtechnicalinnovationwithresponsibleculturalinquiry.Informedbytheincreasingrelevanceoftechnol-ogyinthearts,thisresearchdrawsonthehistoricalandculturalsignificanceoftheDunhuangfrescoestoproposeneweducationalparadigms.Itfurtherinvesti-gateshowAI-drivenmethodologies—suchasgenerativeadversarialnetworksandvisualanalytics—canofferstudentsimmersiveaccesstofragileheritagematerialswhileencouraginginterdisciplinarycollaborationandethicalreflection.ThestudyprovidesempiricalevidencesupportingthedevelopmentofscalableeducationalmodelsandcontributestothebroaderdiscourseontheresponsibleuseofAIinculturalheritageeducation.
