The Association of European Border Regions as an ecosystem for the development of public administration in border areas

Abstract

The urgent issue of the renewed regional policy of Ukraine is the development of new policies for the development of territorial cooperation for Ukrainian regions in the context of the European integration course of Ukraine and the fulfillment of the European integration pre-accession obligations of Ukraine as a candidate state for EU membership. The trends in modern processes of strategic planning for the development of territories of communities and regions of Ukraine are shaped by modern challenges and actions to reform the regional development management system through approximation to European standards for the functioning of territories and achieving effective management of territorial cooperation based on the principles of multilateralism and good governance. The Association of European Border Regions as a political ecosystem of public management of the development of border regions is an important component of the development of regional cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, establishing cooperation between Ukrainian border regions and the Association of European Border Regions on the basis of collecting scientific data to ensure the European integration process of synchronizing and harmonizing the policies of regional development of Ukraine and territorial cohesion of the EU.
