Abstract: The study examines the impact of the emergence of quantum computers on the security level of modern information-protection mechanisms and the resulting transformation of professional requirements for specialists in the field of cybersecurity. An analysis of changes in international standards that define new approaches to encryption systems in the post-quantum era has been conducted. New competencies that a modern cybersecurity engineer must possess have been identified.
