| Abstract: | The article examines the ways of stimulating students’ self-directed learning in higher education institutions within the context of modern educational transformations. It analyzes the role of self-learning as a key factor in developing autonomy, critical thinking, and professional competencies of students. The shift in the teacher’s role from a knowledge transmitter to a mentor and facilitator of the educational process is highlighted. The importance of technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and online platforms, in personalizing learning and increasing student motivation is outlined. The main challenges of implementing self-directed learning at the levels of students, educators, and institutions are identified. The need for a comprehensive approach to developing self-regulation skills and ensuring effective support for the learning process is emphasized. |
