Abstract: The theoretical foundations and methodology of using case technologies in teaching mathematics cycle disciplines are considered. The history of the formation of the method from the Harvard School to modern Ukrainian realities is studied. The typology of cases is described by the structure and process of obtaining information. Research shows that situational analysis contributes to the development of critical thinking in students.
