Abstract: The study presents the results of a study of corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a tool for business self-regulation, the effectiveness of which depends on cognitive models of reality perception. The paper analyses in detail the threats and risks for the implementation of CSR through the prism of the concepts of VUCA, BANI and RUPT, in particular the bureaucratisation of processes, ethical ambiguity and the complexity of choosing priorities. In addition, strategic approaches to overcoming these challenges are highlighted, including the development of flexibility and empathy, and the transition to a higher level of social contribution to maximise the enterprise's social effectiveness.
