Abstract: The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the transformation of the modern higher education system in the context of global digitalization, the development of the information society, and the knowledge economy. The relevance of studying artificial intelligence as a key driver of modernization in the educational, research, and administrative activities of higher education institutions is substantiated. The evolution of the concept of artificial intelligence is examined, and the main theoretical and methodological approaches to its study in higher education are characterized, including systemic, competency-based, activity-based, and axiological approachessocial status of youth, its orientation towards the future, determines its special social significance.
